The river that DID run red: Chinese waterway turns scarlet after illegal factories dump dye stocks

It looks as if they End Of Days has come to northern China.

But in fact the real cause of this river turning such a gruesome red was dye being dumped into the storm drain network of the city it runs through. This picture taken on Tuesday shows the red polluted Jian River in the city of Luoyang, in north China's Henan province. The Luoyang Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau said the dye had been dumped by two illegal dye workshops. Officials raided the factories to shut them down, and are now working to disassemble their machinery. Situated on the central plain of China, one of the cradles of the Chinese civilization, Luoyang was one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China. According to chapter 16, verse 4 of the Bible's book of Revelations, one of the signs that Armageddon is near will be an angel pouring a bowl into the rivers, turning them into blood.

بسبب انتشار التلوث في السنوات الأخيرة، شهدت البشرية زيادة في تفشي الأمراض الخطيرة كالسرطان بأنواعه المختلفة، والمشكلة الكبرى هي أن الإنسان الذي يعاني من أخطار التلوث، هو السبب الرئيسي في حدوثها. ومن أحدث أشكال التلوث هذا العام، اللون الأحمر الدموي الذي اكتسبه نهر جانا الصيني والذي جاء نتيجة مخلفات أحد المصانع الكيماوية،  فبدلاً من اللون الشفاف الكريستالي الذي كانت تتمتع به مياه النهر الشهير، اكتسب ذلك اللون الأحمر الدموي، وهو ما دفع الكثيرين إلى إلقاء اسم ( نهر الدماء).  جدير بالذكر أن السلطات الصينية قامت بإخضاع المسؤولين للمساءلة القانونية للتحقيق في الأمر وهي بصدد إلقاء أشد العقوبات عليهم.
