LITTLE Manpreet Singh could be the world's toughest ten-year-old, as these gruesome pictures show. At an age when most of his friends are playing cricket, Manpreet has become the world's youngest master of an obscure Indian martial art called Ghatka. Manpreet Singh Khalsa, 10, is a young Punjabi boy and member of a group that perform extreme stunts which include being run over by cars, hanging people by their heads, chewing tube lights and playing with swords and spiked maces. The group, Bir Khalsa, practices the ancient Sikh martial art of Ghatka, a fighting technique that is passed down from generation to generation and only Sikhs are allowed to perform. Manpreet says his favourite stunt involves placing coconuts on his forehead while they are smashed open using a baseball bat and brute force. After rushing home from school each day Manpreet practices his martial art with dedication - although he still finds some time to play cricket and cycle. Kamaljeet, who is Manpreet's uncle, is happy to let children play with daggers and swords, claiming it is not dangerous if they are properly trained.

ستمتع معظم ابناء جيله بلعب الكريكيت، الا ان مانبريت (10 اعوام) يستمتع بالجلوس لتسحق حبة جوز الهند في وجهه بواسطة مضرب بيسبول. هذه الحيل المرعبة من الممكن ان تفقده بصره، او تسبب له اضرارا جسيمة. حيث تسحق انابيب الاضاءة في صدره، فتتطاير الشظايا وتشكل خطر على عينيه. من الممكن ان يكون مانبريت اقوى صبي في العالم، بعد ان حاز على لقب اصغر سيد في الدفاع عن النفس، بفن قتال هندي يدعى غاتكا. مانبريت عضو في فرقة للفنون القتالية، حيث يؤدون الحركات الخطيرة والمثيرة، وبتدربون بالسيوف والصولجانات. فبعد ان يعود مانبرت من المدرسة، يهرع الى التمرن على حركاته الجديدة. ويقول عم مانبرت القائد للفرقة: "لا امانع ان امرّن الاطفال بالسيوف والادوات الحادة، فما داموا مدربين جيدا لا يمكن ان يؤذوا انفسهم". ويقول مانبرت ان حيلة جوز الهند هي المفضلة لديه دون ادنى شك.
