2013 Subaru Legacy

Subaru Legacy 2013
Subaru treated the Legacy sedan and its high-ridding Outback sibling to a mild refresh for the 2013 model year and brought both cars to the New York Auto Show for their public debut. The two models sport more or less the same changes that include the presentation of a more efficient version of Subaru's 2.5-liter boxer engine with a double-overhead-cam (DOHC) rated at 173hp and 174 lb.-ft. of torque, up 3hp and 4 lb.-ft. from the previous 2.5-liter SOHC engine.

All-wheel drive comes as standard with buyers having the choice of a six-speed manual gearbox or Subaru's second-generation Lineartronic continuously variable transmission (CVT).The 256-horsepower 3.6-liter 6-cylinder Boxer engine matched to a 5-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission continues unchanged for 2013. Aside from the minor cosmetic tweaks on the outside that include the new front grille and bumper and the new seat fabric and equipment upgrades inside, Subaru says it has also retuned the suspension and steering of both models to improve handling and ride comfort.
